Geek+ has announced used robotics solutions for Nike's new distribution centre in Chiba, Japan, which has allowed Nike to start same-day delivery in the country. Geek+ deployed more than 200 robots from its goods-to-person P series line.

The robots carry Nike products and packages directly to the warehouse worker, reducing costs and increasing picking efficiency.

With the rapid growth of e-commerce, labour shortage in the logistics industry has become a serious economic issue, particularly in Japan where the labour force has been shrinking rapidly in recent years and spurring efforts at automation.

With Geek+, Nike has been able to introduce same-day delivery to its Japan customers.

Geek+ has so far deployed more than 10,000 robots for clients in multiple countries for e-commerce, apparel, retail, logistics, 3PL, pharmaceutical, and manufacturing sectors. Founded in 2015, Geek+ is headquartered in Beijing, with offices in Hong Kong, Japan, Germany and the USA.
