76% of Hi-tech Manufacturers and Retailers deliver product to Eastern China

eyefortransport just completed Part 1 of its Asia Pacific Hi-tech Supply Chain Industry Survey Focussing on the hi-tech manufacturer and retailer perspective on priorities and demand trends in the region.

The eyefortransport report was compiled using the responses of 230 executives that work directly with or in the Asia Pacific region with most respondents coming from the manufacturing side of the supply chain. The report provides some valuable insight into some of the shifts taking place in the APAC region as economic recovery falters and companies change their regional strategies.

Written in a very easy-to-read ‘infographic format’, this year's Report features key findings including:

  • A marked shift in consumer bases with Eastern China taking over from Singapore as main location of respondents' customers
  • Almost 50% of respondents chose 'Inventory Management & Working Capital Reduction' as their main priority this year
  • India edges past China as location of the biggest increase in consumer demand in the next 5 years

‘Asia is undergoing a number of shifts at the moment as costs rise’ said Haley Garner, Research Director at eyefortransport. ‘However, with a growing consumer base like nowhere else in the world, many opportunities still remain, and this report goes-on to show how hi-tech companies are doing their part to take advantage’

The threats, challenges and opportunities currently facing the hi-tech supply chain in Asia will all be discussed  at this year’s APAC Hi-tech and Electronics Supply Chain Summits:

· Singapore – October 28-29

· Hong Kong – October 31-November 1

Complimentary passes for both are now available for senior supply chain executives working for manufacturers and retailers. Click the links above to see more information.
