K&N CEO leaves; 10PL gains traction; Multichannel Supply Chain Explored

Well it would not be a week in logistics without yet another management change, last week was APL Logisticsand this week it is the turn of K&N with Reinhard Lange resigning. When I get some time I will have to work out exactly how many of the top 50 logistics companies have made top management changes in the last 12 months, my feeling is that it will be a truly significant percentage.

We had a good response to my invite to European shippers and LSP’s to participate in the first ‘European Logistics Location Monitor’, I have had a sneak peak at the data so far, and there will definitely be some interesting findings to report shortly. We could do with some extra responses, so please forward this link to all your contacts in the industry and ask them to spend 15 minutes to complete this important survey which will score over 100 regions of Europe as to their suitability and popularity as a location for siting a distribution centre.

Categories to be scored include: Quality of Infrastructure, Cost of Labour, Proximity to Strategic Transportation Hubs & Corridors, Availability of Land/Existing Warehouses, Accessibility to Customers & Suppliers etc.

Lastly, in our never-ending quest to provide the industry with interesting resources we are pleased to give you access to a webinar we recorded recently “Multichannel Supply Chain Challenges and Opportunities”.

The webinar features two presentations, the first from Neil Ashworth, Chairman CILT and CEO Collect +, focuses on “Balancing Fulfilment Challenges of Multichannel Retail” and the second, from Retail Innovations Consultant, Jens Eckoldt, examines “Supply Chain Management Challenges for Multichannel Retailers”.  Also included are live polling and audience Q&A.
