eyefortransport Weekly Newsletter 25th April 2013

Healthy 1st quarter results; UPS and LNG; 3PL, CSCO and CIO Logistics events

It’s a busy week with lots of first quarter financial statements, we have highlighted 3 ‘good news’ stories from the USA with Hub Group, Union Pacific and Ryder all doing well. Other interesting news came from UPS’ LNG fleet expansion, which is quite significant in size; and speaking of expansion the Hungarian Logistics company Waberer is really moving towards being a serious player in the European market – definitely one to watch.

Two quick comments on some upcoming events which may be of interest. Firstly, if you are thinking of joining the 500+ senior executives who will be at the 11th 3PL Summit and CSCO Forum in Chicago on June 18-20, then make sure you reserve your place today as the early bird prices end today and everything goes up $200. It really is a fantastic event in a great hotel, although there are literally only a handful of rooms still available at the Radisson Blu so book up soon.

Secondly, the 15th European Logistics CIO Forum takes place on May 22-23 in Amsterdam, and has already attracted the CIO’s or regional CIOs of FedEx, DSV, Panalpina, DB Schenker Rail, Lufthansa Cargo, DHL, Geodis Wilson… – this is a small intimate event with space for just 80 executives, with a few complimentary passes still available for qualified attendees – apply here.

….sorry for the previous advertizements, but these events do help pay our bills ;0)

Regards,
