Emerging markets and logistics; UPS and Panalpina results; Damco new CEO announced

Last week I was in Denver for the annual CSCMP conference where I helped launch the annual Third Party Logistics Study, which can now be downloaded from http://www.3plstudy.com/. As usual the event was a good place to meet with many old contacts and discuss some of the issues and opportunities around the logistics and supply chain industry.

I am still personally excited about the emerging economies and it was good to hear first-hand from CEVA about their success in Latin America and UTi on their Africa business. Cathy Morrow has also authored an article in our news selection this week regarding emerging economies that is well worth a look.

Two last requests – firstly, if you use a 3PL in Europe then we would really like your vote for the ‘Best European 3PL Awards’. Lastly, we have already collected over 300 respondents for our latest ‘Hot Trends in Supply Chain Survey’ which we will release next week, but a few more responses would be great…It is very short, so will only take 2 minutes to complete. Get the survey here - Hot Trends in Supply Chain and Logistics.

I hope I will be seeing some you in Amsterdam at the 11th European 3PL Summit and CSCO Forum on November 12-14 – there is still time to secure your place and join Europe’s leading 3PL CEO’s and supply chain executives there.
